basically just working all the time right now, sofia started as well and it's wonderful to have her on spot! <3
we're having another staff party on saturday, and it's probably gonna be a wild one again.. though i'm working the day after...:S

i've decided to buy my tickets for LA when my next paycheck comes, just to have it all done, just need to talk to my boss about taking a couple of weeks off!
can't wait!! :D i'll be staying with dre and her new roomie, and we're gonna go to BRENNAN's! wiii!!!!!

x-mas fare and another ordinary day at work

we went to the christmas fare in huseby yesterday, my sisters, my mother and i.. and my mom's neighbour eva of course..:) she's like a little, i dunno, just something small and cute..:)
anyways, i spent waay too much money, ate waay too many samples of everything, but WOW what a night! the cold of the night and the stars above helped us get into that christmassy spirit, and well, it was just a perfect night...:)

it said beep beep beep and all of a sudden my evening was a state of total happiness!

i just wanna dance the night away

please, just make time pass as quickly as possible and make it the first weekend in feburary, cuz all i wanna do right now is to go north, waaaay north and just dance dance dance...

and you may wonder why, and i'll tell you;

I just came back from one of the best weekends ever, and of course it has something to do with dancing!
the dance-a-thon in Hudiksvall was the great event that took place this weekend, very similar to the one in Ö-vik, only it's not as far of a drive.. maybe about 700 km instead of 900... :)
i am high on adrenaline as we speak, and will probably be so for the next couple of days, maybe even weeks..
right now the only thing i can think about is the fact that it's 95 days left until i get to go back and dance with all those wonderfully awesome guys, and it just seems too far away to me..

what kind of ppl actually go to these things, you might wonder, and i'll tell you that too..
ppl who are awesome, social, funny, friendly and who does NOT hesitate to, (after 7,5 hours of dancing i might add), stand on the dance floor and refuse to leave until the bands play at least another song, so they did, one song each, which gave us a total of three, but the ppl there (me included) were not satisfied, so they played another one, as fast as they could to make us tired, but no. WE WANTED MORE! and even tho the bands weren't allowed to, they gave us a little something extra, and we all stood there together, singing and dancing and just wishing the night would never end..

but it did, and now i'm back home, dreaming me back to yesterday, when i was dancing closely with one of those wonderful dancers, and everything, absolutely everything in this world, was perfect, there, at that moment, when he held me tightly...
please, just take me back.

the cruise

it all worked out just fine, we got to go on the cruise, after persuading our mom to come with us (since we couldn't go alone, seeing as neither of us is 23, and you had to be.. ) we we're taken back a couple of years to the days when we were still under aged and mom had to be our guardian.. haha

emmily also decided to come along after feeling rather jealous of us, so it was the four of us; Lina, Emmily, Mom and I... :) an all girls trip that is!

and we had fun! and a lot of it too!

and ate an incredible dinner! YUMMY i say!

I WON I WON I WON:..... fuck it.

so, i won something for the first time in my life basically, and not just something like a chocolate bar at the local carneval but a really nice price.. A CRUISE!
yep, a onedaycruise from stockholm to åland and back, with birka line...

so the story behind all this is that i went dancing yesterday, here in växjö, to a band called highlights (www.bandethighlights.se). had a really good night and i signed up for this lottery they had, were u could win a cruise for this coming weekend, with no hope of winning, cuz i never do.., and there i was, by the end of the night, thinking i'll just go to work next weekend instead on a nice cruise, when they all of a sudden actually call MY name!. it took a couple of seconds for me to realize it, but i had WON!
so, what's the problem u might wonder? and i'll tell u that.
the big effing problem is that i HAVE to work next weekend, there's basically no chance for me to get the weekend off since we're only to cashiers, and the other one can't cover for me that weekend, since she's planned to go visit an old friend of hers for a looong time!
i'm gonna talk to my boss (who's probably the best boss in the world) and see if there's anything we can do about it... on monday.. so, let's all cross our fingers and hope for the best, cuz i really wanna go on this cruise!

hahaha, just cathed the news on tv and found out that the swedish version of monopoly is going to be changed.. Before it's been all about stockholm, the capital, but from now on, instead of streets and places in sthlm, the board game will have names of swedish cities and towns! so, to decide which cities get to be on the board, the monopoly manufacturers have started a voting site online, and guess what city is on top at the moment? CORRECT! little växjö! so, if we "win" this election, we'll have the BEST place at the board, where "norrmalmstorg" used to be, and i just have to say it:

well, i'd had the same haircut for SEVEN (!) years, so i felt that a little change was needed, and i really like it, even tho i can't put it up in a pony tail any more..

"reinventing the wheel to run myself over"...

another weekend has passed. quickly and unnoticed.
spent friday night at mum's place, had the best dinner ever and went to work the morning after.
saturday. a good day. work was good, the afternoon i spent baking was good, the evening/night was awesome!
hung out with my friends from high school, ordered pizza, i accidentally shop lifted (which totally shouldn't be seen as shop lifting, cuz as soon as i realized the fact that i hadn't payed for the bread roll, i turned around and walked back into the store and payed it, while my friends were laughing their asses off i might add...)
well, after that little episode of drama, we went back to david's place, played a board game and watched an old movie, a goood night!
spent today scrap booking, i probably have like a zillion pics to take care of, and today was a start, and it was fun! :D i'm probably gonna get sick of it b4 i even get to my year in LA, but it has to be done!
well, no work this week, turned out the boss had given us too many hours and now he has to cut back a little.. i don't really care, cuz starting oct 16th, i'm getting 75% plus five weeks payed vacation every year! (usually it takes like a year to even get considered for that, so i've been hella lucky!) don't know how long i'll stick around tho, lisa and i are talking about doing a south america-trip and maybe even extend it to an all america-trip, including the caribbean and USA!!:)
but that's probably not until next fall tho..
i might go to kalmar this week and work at siba there, the boss asked me if i wanted to and i'm looking forward to it, it's a really good opportunity to see how other stores work..

well, anyways.. time for sleep

okey, so i just found out that alter bridge is playing in London january 26th, and there's no way i'm gonna miss it this time!

I'm hoping to be able to persuade maddie to come along, and maybe mike to.:) otherwise i'll just go on my own! :D

the week has passed by quickly again. went down to lund and malmö and met ida, lisa and nik! it was wonderful to see them again, and i hope it won't be too long until next time!

then it's been all work work work and i don't mind, cuz i really like it!. starting oct 16th, i'm getting 75% for sure, scheduled time! (right now i'm basically just working hours, even tho they tend to be many)

spending the weekend at my mum's, which i'm looking forward to a lot, haven't seen her in a couple of weeks!.. well, i think that's all for today..

i'm officially moving in!

it's official, my sister and i are gonna be roomies, or at least "apartmentieees" :)

I'm moving in this weekend, and will be paying half of the rent from now on and it feels good, i think i wont feel as much like a visitor in someone else's house from now on...

we've planned some changes to make my room more livable,as an example i'm getting a little set of drawers where i can put my clothes and a shelf of my own in the bathroom, PLUS emmily is probably gonna move her "office/computer room" from my room into the spare room..

(if u're wondering the apartment is pretty big, two bedrooms, one livingroom, a big kitchen and another room (which we use as a "hobby/sewing/storage room") and of course a bathroom..;)

the week passed quickly.. on thursday i hung out with olof after work, we made dinner for his family and then took a bike ride down to the lake and enjoyed an ice cream..:)

Friday night was spent with my marie, we did nothing really, just talked for hours..:D

tonight we're going daaaancing! yeye! Some ppl are coming here first, and we're gonna have dinner and some dance lessons for the beginners.. ih! it's gonna be fun fun fun!

and tomorrow, it's off to my dad's, just to hang out and chill for a little, and monday is the day when i go to Lund to visit Lisa and NIK! (who's visiting from LA!!!) looking forward to seeing him a lot, speaking english again and just remember the good old times!

the best weekend this far

so, the weekend thar just passed was by far the best since i came back from the states!

as u all know, my sisters and i went to örnsköldsvik to go to the dance marathon.. which means that we danced bugg and foxtrot for about 8,5 hours two nights in a row..

and for all of u that don't know where ö-vik is, here are some facts:

• The distance between Växjö and Ö-vik is about 95 swedish miles, or 950 km, or 594 miles..
• It takes about 10 hours to drive from V-ö to Ö-vik (including a couple of stops)
• Ö-vik is located in the north part of sweden, waaay up north.. in NORRLAND.. which is pretty cool, cux ppl there don't say yes, they just inhale some air really quickly and loudly..:)

anyways, dancing for 16 hours was sooo much fun! i loved it and i'm probably going to another dance marathon in october, in Hudiksvall( "only" 700 km (437 miles) up north) ! yey!

some ppl ask me who i dance with, and i tell them "everyone", and it's true, even tho i try to dance more with the younger guys than the older men, but it doesn't really matter as long as they can dance. :D

had a couple of favorites, and they were just freaking awesome, almost too good to be true.. there's something called a "dance crush" (you get a crush on someone just bcuz they're such good dancers), and i still have one.. ih, that guy really could dance, i tell u that!:)

and just to prove that we are mentally ill, my sisters and i stopped by a dance place on our way back on sunday, just to dance a little more..:) hihi, my body was not as sore as i thought it would be, and both my knees and my shoulder could handle the phsyical abuse that i put them through..:)yey!

anyways, time to get back to reality.. laundrytime!

bowling kinda became second priority while we discussed the most important happenings in our lives, who's dating who and whatever was on our minds..
grabbed a snack at "askelyckan" ( a cosy little coffee shop downtown) and just talked and hung out, it's been waaay to long!

dad and i went over to visit my grand dad, who's han an hip operation done, for a little while b4 my sister came to pick me up to go to choir practice! OMG, you may think, and yes.. it was a first, but it was fun! seems like a good way to keep developing my voice, and i get to spend some more time with my sisters..:) anyways, it's a gospel choir, so all the songs are really good and fun to sing!

well, time for bed.. i have a rediculously long day at work tomorrow..

today, everything seems too far away

a day off work and all of a sudden my "homesickness" comes back and settles in my stomach..

feels like i've been away from "home" more than a month, feels more like.. i dunno, maybe 3 or 4 .. weird.

i miss all of you over there and the fun times we had together, i miss playing v-ball, i miss dancing like crazy at brennan's, i miss going to my italian class with the guys, i miss riding my dear bike along the beach, i miss the BEACH and the sun and the palm trees...

saw something on TV from Santa Monica yesterday, and it felt like someone just had run a knife through my heart.. gosh..

well, today is a brand new day and seeing marie for the first time in 7 months is probably gonna make everything feel a lot better!

seriously, why oh whyyy doesn't the rain stop falling? It's been raining all day long, and probably all of yesterday too.. and it sucks, for sure!

so, the weekend passed almost unnoticed.. worked all day on friday and spent the night at emilia's, we had a good night, just like old times :)
worked saturday, got home to my sister's, waited there for about an hour b4 we went to my mum's place to have family dinner.. i was, so to speak, the 7th wheel.. ( my mum and her boyfriend plus my two sisters and their boyfriends.. me and my tragic single life..) so i decided to do something about the situation and went to a party instead.. my old class mate turned 20, and in sweden, 20 is something to celebrate! :) it was fun and after a night with waaaay to little sleep i went back to work to finish my job week with a 4-hour shift.. sweet..
so, tomorrow's my day off, i'm gonna hang out with my darling marie, FINALLY!
and after that it's all work tue, wed, and thursday.. and then...

DANCE MARATHON!!! (yey!)

weei, i got a siba-umbrella from my boss today! so from now on i'm a walking commercial post..:) (at least when it's raining, and, since we're talking about sweden, that's basically all the time!)
job today was a bit slow, i guess i have to get used to that, it's not always gonna go as fast as my first day...

hihi, my sisters are doing stuff with lina's hair, right now she looks kinda like a mixture between a baldie with a really bad wig and a barbie doll (ever seen a barbie dolls's skalp? then u know what i'm talking about) and don't be alarmed, they're only doing some highlights...:)


need to start doing exercises for my shoulder aswell, it kinda hurts as soon as i do anything at all, and it sucks... and if i'm gonna be able to dance at the marathon next weekend i'll have to get started right about... NOW!

another day at work

weei, i woke up! I seriously doubted i would seeing how tired i was after yesterday's work.. i think i've slept almost 11 hours, hihi, NICE!
well, yesterday was... hmm.. EXHAUSTING, but fun! and if i remember everything i learnt yesterday today, i'm seriously amazing! ;)
got there around 9 a.m and left around 7.20 p.m, wooohaa, a looong day full of new impressions, new facts, and new knowledge. :)
i like it tho! the ppl i work with are cool, the boss is funny PLUS i don't have to wear tight pants! (regardless of my mum trying to convince me otherwise...) I LOVE THIS PLACE! I'll have to endure wearing tight pants for another day tho, i have my baggy ones at my mum's and i spent the night at my sister's (five minutes from work, by bicycle, YEY!)

a start of something new...

okey, so i am now officially a blogger, (not that i need another reason to get even more addicted to my computer, but still..)

i guess my swedish friends are all wondering why the heck i'm writing in english, and there's a very simple explanation to that ...;
i want all of my non-swedish-speaking friends to be able to read what i'm writing, plus i get a reason to continue using my english now that i'm back from la.. :)

so, the start of something new... my new blog plus the fact that i start my new job tomorrow! Ih, i'm a bit nervous, but it'll probably work out just fine! (for all of you who wonder, my new job is at Siba [kinda like best buy for all of you non-swedes], and i'll be working about 75% from now on)
